iMiss
I miss doing programming... and having the leisure time to fiddle with webbie stuff :/
Well, not intensive programming, but basic programming for fun. I cannot seem to find the time to sit down and write small but useful programs... nor can I find the time to fiddle with webbie stuff and keep myself abreast with all the new updates in PHP, HTML and FLASH.
I miss learning German... and the times I spent memorising the genders of the nouns.
I miss my Secondary school days... and my Primary school days as well... the carefree days of having ice-cream to eat after school everyday, playing five-stones with my best friend and hopscotch during recess.
The school holidays have begun for my students... a 2-month long holiday for them. My break begins officially after 16 November 2007, when the Primary school holidays begin. However, it wouldn't really be much of a break. I'll be busy writing the SOW for next year and preparing for my ICT in December. Might also want to start preparing some lessons in case they will be used next year (though I doubt so... another year of teaching ahead, won't wanna torture myself this soon ba. Ha).
EOY Marking...
Yay, I finished marking before my own deadline. Managed to finish marking the S2 Express Maths Paper 2 scripts by about 1pm in the afternoon. Checked through the first class I marked and then proceeded to key in the CA2 and EOY results for the two classes that I teach. Am currently working on the question analysis and marker's report... horribly time-consuming lo. The question analysis alone is quite tedious.
Anyway, it's Marking Day tomorrow and since I have no more marking to be done, I shall work on the report and all that... Will have to bring work home over the weekend though, since I won't be able to finish the question analysis and marker's report by tomorrow.
It'll soon be the holidays... but I'm not really going to have much of a holiday, with the invigilations, NCC course and ICT. No time to have a good break before next year >.<"
EOY Marking...
Just finished close to 160 x 7 pages of marking for Sec 1 Science... not to mention tallying of all the marks.
Later in the day, another close to 160 x 8 questions worth of marking for Sec 2 Maths. My aim... to finish marking all the Maths stuff by Thursday, so that my Friday can be used for keying in of marks, writing report, etc.
Shall go pack my stuff before I go play chess with Mr Zhou Gong...
The marking of the Science papers has confirmed the fact that I cannot really teach Lower Sec Science well :/ I want to teach Physics... at least I think I will fare better at teaching it :/
Harry's Bar... and Practical Invigilation
Harry's Bar
Went Harry's Bar near Pasir Panjang last Friday night with some colleagues. It was a chilling out session organised by yours truly, to "escape" from the stress at work. It was a nice session... and I ended up drinking the most. 4 glasses compared to 2 glasses for the rest of them. Had a "Bailey's Irish Cream", a "Dirty Harry", a "Screaming Orgasm" (after trying a little of "Sex on the Beach") and ended of with a "Flaming Lamborghini". All are cocktails except Bailey's...
"Dirty Harry" is... vodka with lychee liqueur and lime, "Screaming Orgasm" is like diluted Bailey's, "Sex on the Beach" tastes like diluted cough syrup... I think it's just fruit punch with vodka. Lastly, "Flaming Lamborghini" tastes quite horrible with the peppermint taste... but it's the most special of the lot though.
About "Flaming Lamborghini"...
Ingredients:
* 1 oz Kahlua
* 1 oz Sambuca
* 1 oz Blue Curacao
* 1 oz Bailey's irish cream
Mixing instructions:
Pour the Sambuca and Kahlua into the Cocktail Glass and give the drinker a straw. Pour the Bailey's and Blue Curacao into two separate shot glasses either side of the cocktail glass. Set light the concoction in the cocktail glass and start to drink through the straw (this drink should be drunk in one) , as the bottom of the glass is reached put out the fire by pouring the Baileys and Blue Curacao into the cocktail glass and keep drinking till it's all gone.
I'm not encouraging people to drink though... just recording a part of my lifestory down. I seldom drink... but can normally hold quite a bit of alcohol. The only thing I will do if I'm drunk is to want to sleep.
Practical Invigilation
Next on the list... my first 'O' level Practicals invigilation. I did the time-keeping for my school's 'O' level English oral the last time and it wasn't exactly a fun experience. This time, the Practicals invigilation was much more interesting though.
Quite drama I would say... A girl broke the pipette and cut her finger during the first practical I invigilated. It happened as soon as I said "You may begin...". She took the pipette, tried to attach the rubber sucker thing, then hurt herself liao. It was quite a deep cut... and she was given 12 more minutes to finish the practical... because that was how long it took from the start till after medical attention was given. Many test tubes were broken in the process too...
Will have school exam paper to mark over the weekend... Lalala.
An oasis in the desert
Yea... Finally, I have decided to post something, after what seemed like eons.
I'm well and alive, except for the fact that I leave school at 6.45pm everyday. I even help the caretaker to switch off the staff-room lights. Ha. As occupied as life is now, I am contented with life. The exams are round the corner for my school and we're now into the final week before the exams. Although there isn't going to be much lesson preparation and teaching going on, invigilating and marking can still be quite a hassle.
To keep this entry short... (Yep, I'm not going to compensate for my lack of entries for the past few months) I shall just post some pictures.

Quite nice ah... the drawing... Heh. I didn't know that I plump looking. This student of mine draws quite well, despite the fact that she wasn't supposed to be drawing on my whiteboard :P Pythagoras' Theorem must have left quite a deep impression for her.

Another one... about me teaching about love while eating my toast O.o And is that a lip print on my face?
And no... I'm not called Winston ah Seow.

I have no idea what this picture is about though... students always like to gossip about male and female teachers... and I too cannot escape from that fate.
Ok... time to sleep... will update when I have the time again. *Poof*
