Sec 2 Life Skills Camp

I'm back. Haha. Saturday is not a working day, of course I'll be at home lah.

Anyway, the Sec 2 Life Skills Camp is finally over. I quite enjoyed the camp... just that I really couldn't find time to sit down and get work done. Next week is going to be heeeeccctiiiic. Zzzz

Staying over in school isn't too bad when one has colleagues who drive. Went out of school over to Bukit Merah Central for prata at Brinda's on Wednesday night. My first time there for supper... haven't been to that place before... and didn't know it opens 24 hrs a day. Went over to the railway station at Spottiswoode Park for supper on Thursday night. I didn't eat anything on Thursday night though, just had a free mug of ice Milo, courtesy of one of my trainee friends.

Certain events that left some memories would be the setting up of the tents, the kite making, the morning aerobic exercises and the IPW gallery walk. I was so so tired after the gallery walk. I was walking around looking at students' projects and leaving comments for more than two hours I think. Got to know my students better I think... and they got to know me better as well ba.

Attended the opening ceremony of ideaS4us on Friday afternoon. It's an online resource portal for the teachers in the S4 cluster. Erm, I've got no access to it though... quite "extra" for me to attend it :/

Sports Day and Life Skills Camp

So, there really was a sports day last Friday. Felt a little lost when I was there, since the full-time teachers had sports houses and we trainees didn't. Was made to run in the teachers' relay at the last minute. Interestingly, or not so interestingly, it was my first time running in an event in any sports day. I never ran during sports day when I was in secondary school, mainly due to the fact that I'll always be doing duty on that day and I've never been a sports person.

Went to catch Mr Bean's Holiday in the evening. Quite funny bah... I'm not really a fan of Mr Bean, but I liked the way the story went. The ending was a little weird though. Wanted to have pizza for dinner, but ended up in the food court because Pizza Hut had a long waiting list. Want to eat also so difficult... >.<" That's the problem with going out during weekends... long queues everywhere.

This week marks the Life Skills Camp for the secondary two students, a five-day event held in school. Things are going quite well so far I guess, apart from the fact that I'm always sticky when I get home. I'm staying overnight in school on Wednesday and Thursday. I'm not sure if I want to do work at night when everyone else is sleeping. Ha. Let's see how it goes...

3rd week of March

It's now the third week of March... and well, my bloggie is as good as dead. Ha. I'm now in my third week of my practicum... seven more weeks to go. I miss my NIE friends. And I would almost definitely say that studying is much better than working :P

Just a few days back, I added a phrase to my MSN nick... {Schreckliches Leben}. Perhaps life isn't that terrible, it's just that I'm a little overwhelmed with the fact that I have to really be able to control the class to get a decent grade for practicum. Really not easy lo... Haha.

Anyway, {Schreckliches Lebeb} is now {No more Mr Nice Guy}, at least for one of my classes. I guess I've really started off being too kind to them, to my disadvantage and dismay. Perhaps there's some truth in first using the "scare tactic" before reverting to softer measures. Had a persistent headache the whole day yesterday, perhaps due to me "over-preparing" for the showdown yesterday morning. Ha.

Life's manageable... Hectic yet fulfilling I guess =]

The March holidays had been a good break though, having the chance to prepare myself for the many weeks ahead. Not too well prepared though. Going home only at 6pm isn't what I expected this week. More late days to come.

Lessons are happening though... every lesson is an opportunity for stories to tell to others. I guess I've had my share of unexpected stuff the past few weeks. Ha. Taken with a pinch of salt, some of the happenings are quite funny ba.

Okie, better go bathe and sleep le... Tomorrow is Friday. It's the school sports day I think. I can't really find information about it anywhere. Hmmm. But I think it is lah. Will go to the stadium instead of school in the morning then. Oh, and... I'll be missing so many Friday lessons, that I dunno whether to be happy or sad. No time no time...

Kk, till next time. Gute Nacht und schoenes Wochenende!

It's now March...

Time flies, regardless if you're having fun.

My first week in school... for my practicum. It has been a really busy and taxing four days so far. Teaching really takes up lots of time... and with that, I mean personal time as well. Anyway, I'm getting used to it. I'll be conducting my first lesson tomorrow. I hope it won't be a disaster. Ha

The past month has had its ups and downs, ranging from rushing assignments to periods of "slackness" and periods of illness. Just recovered from a bout of the common cold over the weekend. Made the right decision to go consult the doctor early, when the symptoms were there and I was still feeling ok. It's a speedy recovery. Heh

The Lunar New Year period was ok... it was a welcomed break I would say. A break from school, for me to finish up my assignments and all that. Didn't do much in the end though. I'm tired by the time I get home from school or tuition these days... which would imply that I wouldn't really be posting entries, unless something terribly interesting happens.

With that, I wish all a pleasant month of March ahead =]
