No more Rhapsody blues... because the dateline is over and the submission folder has been closed. Ah well, didn't manage to do anything substantial for the first question ba :/

Today's events...

Well, slept till about 11pm I think, then ate some food, bathed and headed to Church. Had lesson from 2-5pm. Today's afternoon snack was good :P 小笼包, 饺子 and 葱油饼. Very nice... Then I came home to rush my assignment and submitted it before 12 midnite.

Nothing much for the day. It's a new week ahead.

More Rhapsody Blues

Ok, so my last entry stopped at the point where I said that I'm determined to attend the morning lecture. Well, I was more determined to have a good sleep I guess. Missed the lecture again.

Anyway, I went down to school at about 4pm, to meet up with a few friends who were doing an assignment with Rhapsody. Hmmm, a really tough assignment. We worked overnight. Still had to eat though. Took bus A over to Engin Macs where I had a Grilled Chicken Foldover. Quite nice... eating it for the first time :P I like the taste of the flat bread. Ha.

Well, we almost went crazy just doing one of the questions of the assignment. There's still question 1 undone. I'm not sure if I want to do it... might be giving up. Don't understand what's going on also. Will try to figure it out when I'm in the mood ba. I'll need to write a report on this assignment as well. Zzz

Came home in the morning at about 8.30am. Slept till 4pm but still feeling a little tired. Mental work is draining. Well, before I end, here's a result from one of those online tests...

Tired eyes

I don't think this is the first time my eyes are doing this to me. Just feel tired... not physically though. It's just the eyes.

I slept till afternoon today, before waking up to get some work done. Nothing much today.

Heavy rain in the evening, night. Really very heavy rain. It's been quite some time since I last saw a rain of this magnitude. Good thing I was at home.

Oh well, I shall go bathe... then have an early night ba. Determined to attend my lecture tomorrow.

Rhapsody in Blue

Not really referring to the piece of music by George Gershwin. More of me having a blue day because of this particular software known as Rhapsody. It's basically a software which allows users to create UML components graphically and converts the components into code. Need to use it for one of my modules. The assignment's due on Sunday...

I spent most of the day in the Central Library today. Went earlier to the library to book a seat using my bad, had breakfast at Engin canteen with a friend, then went to the library to get some work done. I did manage to read up on how to use Rhapsody. Shall start doing the assignment either tonight or tomorrow morning.

The FLASHbox webbie is more or less up. Major components have been transferred to the new webhost server. Future upgrades to the Admin Panel (I really want to implement multiple deletion... but no time, am lazy) won't be expected soon. Perhaps during the next semester ba, which will be in a few months' time.

Hmmm, met two friends today, one a JC schoolmate who is already working and was in NUS to do some installation thingy. The other was one of my campmates who saw me and walked over. Speak about coincidence... he was just thinking of looking for me and he saw me le. Asked me some programming thingy about circle and ellipse.

Planned to have dinner at Engin canteen. Ended up at Clementi to eat the curry rice. Economical ba, but not that nice :P Too bad the tasty curry puff was sold out le.

Dunno why, my eyes are very tired lately. It's always like this when it's nearing the exams. My eyes simply refuse to stay open for me to study :x I took a nap in the evening, but my eyes are still quite tired. I think I'll sleep early tonight, then do my work early tomorrow. That is... if I manage to wake up.

Lecture in the morning... was late by 15 minutes I think, but the lecturer just started. I think this lecturer is very good... sensitive to the needs of his students. Lunch was at Biz canteen. I had basil salmon with spaghetti as well as a Käsewurst (cheese sausage). The western stall uncle gave me a free sunny-side-up. Ah, that's because I know him ah :P Nice guy... though a bit hostile when taking orders from people he doesn't know. Was a little taken aback when he suddenly asked, "还好吗?" when he took my order. Ha.

Forgot what I did in the evening le. Should be fiddling with the FLASHbox site ba. Managed to transfer everything over to the new server by about 6am. Early isn't it. Took me quite some time to transfer the database. I'll need to introduce measures to restrict number of words allowed in the Shouts liao... need to write code to clean up the database as well. It's getting bulky.

Hmmm, not going to write about what I did in the morning and afternoon... but I think I took a nap in the evening. Yar... I did take a nap in the evening. Forgot what I ate for dinner le. Maybe it was rice with fish soup. I had that a few days ago as well. Hmmm.

Oh, watched "Tiramisu" on Channel 5. Quite a nice show I think. Got quite a few hilarious moments.

Long overdue

Ok, now for a long overdue entry with the details of the happenings on Saturday and Sunday as well as the happenings on Monday and yesterday. Ah, not sure if this will be a long entry, but I think I'll take quite long to type it.

Ok, the early part of Saturday was spent trying to settle my webhosting problem. After so many problems, I conclude that I'm officially terrified of webhosting issues. It's really not easy to find a reliable and prompt webhost. There are so many fraud ones around and you will only know how good (or bad) they are after you have tried them. Of course there might be friendly websites and forums which can help. So... the key thing to this is to make sure ample research is done, by Googling on the Internet.

I left for the BBQ session at Downtown East feeling rather down because the webhost problem. Met up with Elaine, Victor, Holly and Tammy on the train at Queenstown MRT Station. The whole duration of (and even after) the trip was spent telling Elaine and Victor about the whole webhosting and myFLASHbox story.

Elaine wasn't feeling well, so we stopped by White Sands. Victor bought Yakult (or Vitagen) I don't remember which for Elaine and each of us had a bottle each. Holly, Tammy and I bought finger foods from Old Chang Kee. I had a curry puff and the soft fried sotong on a stick. Nice...

It was eh... around 8pm I guess... by the time we reached the BBQ. It was Vince's birthday BBQ. Nice of him to have invited us. Yvonne was already there by the time we reached. Jinde appeared soon after. I had bee hoon, curry and fishballs. Vince and his friends were busy BBQ-ing food for us. Ate hotdogs, chicken wings and pork chop as well.

The highlight for the day is not just the cake-cutting session. I think the vodka drinking session was quite happening also. It was Vince's first time making vodka 7-UP. I tried the first cup. It was... alcoholic, considering that he mixed 3/4-parts vodka with 1/4-parts 7-UP. I had to frantically dilute the concoction after my first sip. Well, I drank a few more cups after that and was quite "seh". I think I talked a lot after that, to keep myself from falling asleep...

Was slightly "late" for church. Supposed to reach earlier since I had sound duty. There was lesson in the afternoon and this time, it was my turn to buy snacks. I bought some 点心 from a stall that is quite near the church, after following a friend's directions. The food was not bad... I quite like the 叉烧酥.

It was late afternoon by the time I got home and the time was spent settling the webhost thingy. Good news was that someone approached me to ask if I'm interested to have a sponsor for my myFLASHbox site. I contacted the person and we came to an agreement by sleeping time, ending my few days of webhosting misery.

周末, Wochenende, Weekend Preview

Well, the search for a new webhost is finally over. myFLASHbox.notsniw.net will soon become myFLAShbox.sg and will be hosted under the sponsorship of Xssist.com. Really want to thank God for this. It's almost like a miracle. Ok... a bit de 夸张... but I'm really very very relieved that this is settled.

My current webhost as clarified about their closing down, so that's another thing solved. There's still one more problem left... but I'll just leave that one to rot and die. See how it goes. That problem was brought about because of a rash decision that I made in a frantic attempt to get myFLASHbox a new home.

Had a BBQ in the evening on Saturday. It was really enjoyable. Went to church on Sunday. Well, now tired le... shall go Zzz. A more detailed update later in the day ba...

End of another week

Well, the past two days have been taxing. Stupid webhost... suddenly say close shop. I don't even know if it's true :P It might be a scheme to get me to switch host because I'm using so much of their bandwidth. Just being skeptical ba.

*Bad news*
Just found out that the new webhost I found to host the myFLASHbox website might be cheats :/ Think I was too rash to get the site hosting. Trying to rectify the situation now. I'm requesting for a refund... since they have said, but not done anything concrete yet.

Anyway, need to write about things which happened from Wednesday till today. Let's see...

It's lab TA duty day. I was there early, to do my own stuff. "Business" was ok. Had people from some other lab sessions asking me questions. There was nothing to do most of the time tough, since this week's lab was relatively easy... at least easier than the previous one. The previous one was totally horrid.

Ah, went for a hair cut. My hair's a little too short now. I'll have to give the hairdresser specific instructions next time. "High slope" is not clear enough. I think my head looks like a cactus now. Anyway, went home for dinner, then went back to Ikea to search for a friend who was there to buy stuff. Managed to find him and another friend at the Ikea cafe. They wanted to have the curry rice there, so I just sat there drinking plain water and talking to them.

It was about 10pm by the time I got home. Had to settle the webhosting thing. Had decided to cease the hosting of public FLAShboxes.

Hmmm, managed to wake up in time for my lecture in the morning. Had lunch, a meeting, then finished up and handed in an essay for my Genes and Society module. Went for dinner at NUS's Macdonalds... ate a McSpicy Double meal.

Well, was feeling uneasy about the new webhost that I got for the myFLASHbox website. Did a Google search and discovered that the company might be a fraud :/ Shall see how it goes...

Good news, short entry

Well, the good news is that I've found a webhost that is willing to host my myFLASHbox website for the fee of a personal plan. Yep, which means that it will be cheaper to maintain the myFLASHbox website for now.

The hosting of my main domain hasn't been settled yet though.

It has been a busy day searching for webhosts and pacifying FLASHbox users... It's time for bed. It's another long day tomorrow... with a lecture first thing in the morning.

Central Library

I went to school to study today. Early in the morning. Ah, hmmm, didn't manage to do a lot, but I think it's more than what I'll do at home. Skipped lunch, but I had breakfast though... ate fishball noodles.

Hmmm, fell asleep towards the later part of the afternoon. Not easy keeping myself awake in the afternoon. I work best at night. Anyway, the wireless network was a little cranky... The network kicked me out and I couldn't log in via the secure plug and play website. I had to install the Cisco thingy and use LEAP before I could get in. Troublesome. Oh well, at least I get to use free Internet.

Dinner at Engin canteen. Ate from the Indonesian stall and had fried fish fillet with rice. Ah, my friend saw his friends... and one of his friends recognised me as being from his primary school. The "wow" thing is that he still remembers my name. I didn't recognise him though... and I had to ask him for his name, after which I remembered. Can't blame when people's looks change when they grow up and mine doesn't really change ah.

Well, actually I saw three friends altogether including that primary school friend. Met a secondary school classmate and a first three months JC classmate as well. I always seem to meet friends when I'm at the Central Library - Engin region. Saw a friend's girlfriend as well as my German 3 classmate when I was at Central Library last week.

I've got lab TA duty tomorrow... have to go to school. Hopefully no more "OT" tomorow. The lab question seems more manageable this time round.

Hmmm, something that I forgot to mention yesterday. I was washing one of the buckets used to hold water for mopping the floor when doing cleaning duty, when a female friend of mine suddenly shouted, "Centipede, centipede". My reaction? I just stood there, asking her where it was. She just kept shouting the same words. Afterwards, I complained to her about not giving me the location of the centipede. How to expect me to move away when I don't even know where is safe? :P

I had a weird dream today... really weird. It's about keys and coins. I can't really remember the details of it, but it has something to do with finding a treasure I think. Anyway, it's a messy dream. It doesn't really make sense to me now that I think about it. Not sure if my handphone alarm went off in time... I didn't make it in time for my lecture :/ Ehz, so I slept more.

I went to school for my Genes and Society lecture though. I think reading the textbook is good enough, after I attended today's lecture. Skipped two previous lectures =X Anyway, there's no Genes and Society lecture next week since the lecturer won't be around.

Came home after that... took bus from the Dover bus stop again. My cousins came over for tuition, which lasted from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. I'm going to school to study tomorrow. I hope it will be a constructive day...

Fell asleep while reading my textbook yesterday night :/ Didn't manage to wake up to go to church. I spent the late morning and afternoon reading. It rained for almost the whole day today... nice weather for sleeping.

Late afternoon... went to church for cleaning duty. It's a once a month thingy. Ehz, went down to Ikea after that to accompany a friend shop for some stuff, then had dinner at the Ikea cafe. Had the local delight for today, which was rendang chicken. Very nice :P Had fried chicken wings and a slice of cheesecake as well. Indulgence...

Oh yar, saw YK and Miffy at Ikea. First time seeing Miffy... she sure was shy... she hid behind YK I think. Anyway, nice seeing her in real life. Elaine was telling me that I'm the first in #Justblog to see Miffy in real life. Oh yar, #Justblog is not more le... deregistered because Elaine didn't go IRC for too long and her registered nick was gone. Xiaxue

Ha, well, it's a little weird to have a post with "Xiaxue" as the title.

Anyway, I was bored and doing some blog hopping when I realised that it has been a while since I last visited Xiaxue's blog. I have to say that her new layout is very nice... Although the right side of the page is forever cluttered with lots of mini-banners and links, it looks very professionally done. Well, the graphics were professionally done anyway.

I like the part where the posts are displayed... nice.

Ok, I might want to do some reading before doing to bed.

I just woke up from almost 12 hours of sleep. An indulgence, no doubt. Will have to do some research and try to finish two essays by tonight or latest by tomorrow afternoon.

Maybe I just stayed at home and did nothing ba... but that's quite impossible. Maybe I did get some things done, it's just that I don't remember what I did. Sianz. That's how it is when one leads a monotonous life. Everyday feels the same. It's only when something different happens that makes the day memorable.

I overslept and missed my lecture again :/ Well, at least I still went to school to do a bit of studying. It's better than me staying at home and staring at my computer monitor.

Let's see... I managed to browse through today's lecture notes, so that I have an idea of what's going on. I also managed to read through a few of the past lecture notes... partial revision ba. Met friends for lunch, then went to the computer lab to study. I took a short nap towards the end though... cannot tahan reading notes for a long duration.

I went home at 6pm though... walked over to the Dover bus-stop to take bus number 33. I didn't purchase bus concession this month, so I'll have to try to reduce my travelling expenses :P Didn't feel like doing work once I got home, so I spent most of the time watching tv.

I slept early... at about 11pm. Which is why I'm writing this entry now.

Anyway, went to school in the morning and had "breakfast" by having a donut and a banana walnut muffin from the Engin Dily's. Went to Central Library to help a friend with some stuff. Well, I managed to read up some of my Genes and Society stuff as well.

Ah, went home at about 4.30pm I think. A bit constructive ba, better than me staying at home. Time really flies leh. Sianz. Oh well. Ehz, short entry... because I've got nothing to write. Perhaps I'll just put up some links.

Another week

Ehz, woke up a little late today... Ah, actually I did it on purpose. Anyway, missed the first hour of my lecture which was on programmable logic arrays, something that was taught in a previous module. Got back my testpaper... I think I didn't do too badly considering that I didn't study much for it. Hmmm, didn't know why I got some of the questions wrong though.

Anyway, had lunch, then went over to Anchorpoint to buy something before heading home to change and go meet a friend. Anyway, skipped the Genes and Society lecture again. I'm considering attending the other lecture group's lecture as a "make-up session", since I've skipped two consecutive lectures. I should at least keep myself up to date with the syllabus even though I can just read the textbook.

My Rumah Tinggi cousins came over for tuition in the evening. That's about it... somehow the night just slips past without me knowing.

Yesterday was Sunday

Woke up early and went to church... Had discipleship lesson in the afternoon. Eh, ate "Zhui Kway" from Tiong Bahru Market during the break. Yummy :P

Hmmm, came home, had a short rest, then left my place again to go give my cousins tuition. I'll be taking a break from giving tuition to my cousins who stay at Commonwealth, since their exams are over. Ehz, should be continuing with next year's syllabus after their results are released.

It was already 10.30pm by the time I reached home. Hmmm, watched TV and did my lab scripts marking. I was quite late by the time I went to bed, but not before I woke my mum up to grumble to her about washing my bolster. Who else washes a cotton bolster?? I told her so many times that cotton cannot be washed le... and she killed my bolster by washing it. Haiz

I had this mini pillow which she killed a few months ago by washing too. I had that pillow since young I think... 24 years... but I think she threw it away liao :/ Maybe due to complications that arose due to the washing. Double haiz

Ah, I overslept again... Ehz, can't seem to wake up in time for my 9am lecture on Fridays :/ Maybe I should sleep earlier the night before. Hmmm, went for a short tanning/swimming session in the late afternoon and had dinner at a coffeeshop opposite Great World City at night.

Slept late on friday night, so I woke up late. Waited for my mum to buy me lunch, ate quickly, then headed for church since there was worship practice and I had to go do sound duty. Hmmm, they changed the timing without informing me, so I went one hour early. The whole thing ended at about 7pm I think.

Took a bus home, alighted opposite Dawson's Place, went to NTUC FairPrice to do my weekly grocery shopping, then went home.

Hmmm, I cannot quite remember what I did in the morning and early afternoon, but I reckon that I should be sleeping. Well, at least for the whole of the morning. The afternoon was spent running some simulations for my project. Yep, I'm still running simulations :/

Anyway, I went to school in the late afternoon for a Genes and Society midterm revision lecture. Hmmm, not very helpful, but I can make myself skip it. It was tuition after that. I bought Cornetto ice-creams for my cousins. Was in the mood to buy titbits and felt like having ice-cream, so I bought for them as well.

The night was spent studying for the next day's test...

Midterm test for Mobile Computing in the morning. Ehz, it's an MCQ paper which requires working to be done on the question paper. I found the test difficult, partially because I didn't manage to finish studying for it, so there were a few questions which I didn't have much idea about :/

Lunch, then home...

I left my place again at about 2.15pm to meet a few friends. Well, shall leave the details out, since I'm quite tired at this point in time. Bowling, KTV and supper... quite enjoyable. I reached home past midnight, then studied for my Genes and Society midterm. Ehz, managed to read about half of what I wanted to read before deciding to sleep.

Ehz, Happy Children's Day :P

The Genes and Society midterm exam was ok I guess... 50MCQs in an hour. Hmmm, was relatively sure of my facts, but I think a few questions had answers that were worded in a weird manner. Ah, hope to get at least 80% for this midterm. Not sure if I made any careless mistakes, but I'm rather confident. Well, I'll know when the results are released.

The first of every month is a day to relax... and since today is a Saturday and it coincides with Children's Day, I have triple the reason to relax and to 宠一宠自己 by doing whatever I want to do :P Ehz, spent most of the day playing Neopets. Actually wanted to fiddle with webbie de... but no time liao. Haiz. Oh well. Maybe I can spare some time tomorrow.

It's late... and I haven't had much sleep for the past few days. Tomorrow still have to wake up early.

Ah, how time flies... It's now October and I still do not have much of an idea of what I am doing. I'm especially "lost" this semester... distracted perhaps, by matters which didn't bother me in the past. Perhaps my priorities are all wrong.

Hmmm, having some problems with Blogger, so I'm not able to post my entries up. I've sent a feedback thingy to Blogger admin. I hope this problem will be resolved soon.

The events of the day... slept late last night, so I didn't manage to go to church for sermon and bible study again. Reached church at 11.30am... had lunch, then it was lesson from 12 to 3.45pm... Hmmm, a little late today, not because of the amount of material to cover, but because there was more sharing. Today's theme was "deliverance". I went to NTUC FairPrice for my weekly titbits shopping as usual, then headed home. Managed to take a nap before giving my cousins tuition in the evening.

Ah, I only ate dinner at 10.30pm... it's 1am now. My tummy's feeling a little weird. Dunno why though. I shall go bathe, print notes for tomorrow, then have an early night (early... by my standards) :P

It's not Blogger. It's Singnet.

Yep, I can finally blog from home... and since I was able to blog in school but not at home yesterday, I shall conclude that it's Singnet's fault. This is not the first time that Singnet's cache of DNS entries is giving me problems. Prior to this, my own webbie domain also had some problems. Blogger always seems to have problems with my Internet Service Provider. I have to flush and register my DNS cache everytime I start my computer. Well, I wrote a batch file and made it run at start up. Oh well, at least all is fine now.

Hmmm, I shall first write about yesterday's and today's happenings before posting last week's entries up in another entry.

Hmmm, helped a friend with some stuff in the afternoon. Then went to school for my lab TA duty. Well, did OT till almost 9pm :/ Not my students somemore. A friend saw me when she was driving past SoC on her way home when I was at the bus-stop waiting for my bus. She called me and asked if I was in school. Ha, I think she has very good eye-sight.

Anyway, she turned into the SoC carpark and we had a short chat before she sent me home.

Ah, the night was spent doing FLASHbox stuff and now FLASHbox Version 3.1 is out. I won't be updating the FLASHbox site much till after my exams. Ehz, I'll need to do something to the main notsniw.net site as well. Ah, maybe need to do something with this bloggie site too. No time... no time...

Hmmm, woke up rather late this morning... had a weird dream about spray-painting aircrafts. It was a deja vu sort of dream because I somehow had the idea that this is not the first time I am dreaming about this. It's just messy.

Cooked instant noodles for lunch. Gave tuition in the evening. Oh, I ate grapes... from Japan. Purple grapes that tasted like those grape candy you find in supermarkets. Interesting. I had initially planned to go for a jog, but it rained. I don't like it when it rains at night. Reminds me of my loneliness :P Raining in the afternoon is fine... though I would prefer the sun most of the time.

It's "early"... I should sleep soon... after I post one more entry.

Finally

Ok, now I'm not sure if it's a problem with my computer or Blogger, since it's the first time since I had problems I'm trying to use the school computer to blog. Well, apparently everything's ok now. Ah, if no entries follow after this, you'll know that I'm unable to blog from home... which wouldn't make sense at all, unless my desktop has a big big problem. Anyway, I hope that the reason I can blog in school is that Blogger has already fixed the problem. Will update on this later tonight (if I can :P).

Anyway, am doing my lab TA duty in PL1 now... no business as usual. It's freezing cold in the lab... good thing that I remembered to bring my windbreaker along. Heh. Well, I actually have my blog entries from last Thursday till Sunday in my desktop. I don't remember having written anything for Monday, so perhaps I will make use of this chance to first write about the happenings for Monday and Tuesday.

Hmmm, went to school in the late morning for my lecture. Was just slightly late though. The lecturer went through one of the questions of the midterm paper and he realised that his model answer was wrong. He had initially planned to return the paper to us on Monday, but decided otherwise, since he had to re-mark that question before he can return the paper.

Ehz, skipped my Genes and Society lecture and went home to get some work done. Hmmm, no tuition for the day. I went to Ikea with a friend for dinner though... at the Ikea cafe. Ehz, had poached salmon and chicken wings... with that natural fruit juice. Nice dinner. Even ate a hotdog bun after that. Very filling, but I think I soon became hungry again :P

Well, my project mate suggested going to school to finish up one of our projects, but I suggested that we stay home to do it, since he stays quite far from school and I was lazy to go to school since I had no lessons.

Hmmm, it took quite long to finish up the project. I had super spicy meepok noodles for lunch. Yep, the meepok stall located near Queenstown MRT has powerfully spicy chilli. I'll remind myself to remind the auntie to put less chilli next time... lest I go through another sweating session while eating noodles again.

Tuition in the evening... my cousins bought fried carrot cake for dinner. Quite nice. Hmmm, I think tuition might cease soon, since my cousins will be having their final exams this week and the next. Well, I'll have more time for myself after that then... but no extra money to spend le :P

Fiddled a little with the FLASHbox website before going to bed. Version 3.1 will be out very soon. Well, at least I hope that it'll be out on Wednesday or Thursday night.
