Week 8

Hmmz... Terribly busy week. So so tired. Ha

Anyway, nothing exciting happening in school except for the fact that I chased my students home midway through my remedial session. Too noisy... and I just couldn't go on teaching amidst all the talking. Told my students that I'm not teaching anymore and asked them to go home. I guess all of us need a break once in a while...

Ah, wanted to write something... but forgotten what I wanted to write le. Zzz. Maybe it's not important ba. *shrug*

Sad day in Maple Story

Went for a private Zakum just now... and I'm the 3rd VIP of the Zakum battle.

3 Zakum helmets dropped, so that would mean that I would be able to get the helmet right?

But no... I didn't.

I was honest enough to wait for the organiser's instruction before I take it.
However, someone else looted it before any instructions were given.

No Zakum helmet for today, and I used up 100 Sunset Dew and 300 Miso Ramen :(

So much for following instructions... Haiz, that stupid looter, whoever he/she is.

Week 7

I'm so drained. Don't feel like doing anything. I've been leaving the school only around 6pm or later everyday >.<"

Oh, the school's floorball girls beat KC's 4 to 1. Nice match. Interestingly, the students were able to sing the school song with much passion during the match. I wonder why they can't seem to do the same during assembly... perhaps the tempo is too slow :P

Right... it has been a long week. Glad to have a bit of rest today. Did two observations today... First by my NIE supervisor and the other by both my NIE supervisor and my SCM. Glad that both lessons turned out ok. If only I had my own room... then I don't have to rush from room to room every Friday. Super shiong can...

Right... another long week ahead. I doubt I'll get much rest this weekend. So much to do~

Friday the Thirteenth

Right... I knew something bad was going to happen, but I didn't expect it to be this bad.

The lessons went on quite ok... Computer lab lessons are quite disasterous. My first time conducting computer lab lessons, so I can forgive myself a bit for the mistakes that I have made.

The bad incident that happened. Well, I had the opportunity to listen to both sides of the story... but I am in a dilemma. Actually not really in a dilemma, but rather, in a fix. Should I do something about it? Or should I just let the matter resolve itself? I doubt the matter will be resolved easily... but should I be meddlesome and try to help? As the chinese saying goes... 多一事不如少一事. But ah... something should be done leh. Haiz.

Anyway, the school which I am in currently has a vacancy for Maths... so I tried applying to be posted back. A little late, but I hope I can be posted back. If not very sian to go to another school, which might not be as good as this, in terms of the staff environment and students. I'm quite ok with the students le... except for the fact that they can be too rowdy for my taste, many a times. Let's see how it all turns out lo... I will know the results in mid-June.

I'm looking forward to be back in NIE though... so that I can take a short break before plunging into the ocean depths again. Right... time to sleep. Zzzz

Retail therapy

Went over to Sim Lim Square in the afternoon... and got myself the Microsoft Wireless Notebook Presenter Mouse 8000 at SGD140, a Logitech Desktop G1 keyboard and mouse set as well as an audio cable for my laptop to plug into the sound system of the classroom. Total cost: SGD200

Well, I'm not bearing the brunt of the cost though... I'm still sane... even though I might be a little emo when it comes to dealing with problems involving my students. I'm claiming money for the presenter mouse and my desktop keyboard and mouse from MOE... under the Learning and Development Scheme for IT related products. Will hopefully get my money back. If not, also bo bian. Wanted to get the presenter mouse since last year anyway.

Happy with my purchases... but am a little tired after walking for around two hours in Sim Lim Square looking for the most reasonably priced shops for my purchases. It's another week ahead, with lots of lessons, after school activities, observations and tuitions. How I wish I can just stay home for a week or two and just sleep my time away :P

Feeling lousy

I had to do something which I didn't want to today.

Sometimes things are really not within my control.

Doing your job versus defending a friendship, which one would you choose?

Some people might think that I'm incompetent, resulting in what has happened to happen.

Went back to the staff room and wept... I couldn't take it.

Feeling lousy.

But life still has to go on...

NEWater

I'm sho sho tired... after a day of following my Maths class to the NEWater plant at Tanah Merah. So tired... that I fell asleep while setting their Maths test in the staff room >.<". The trip was quite ok though. I felt that the part on the different processes of producing NEWater was interesting... all the ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis and UV treatment stuff.

Went past the city area on the bus and saw the stage for NDP this year, as well as the super big ferris wheel that is still under construction. It's really huge lo.

Oh yar, had my first formal observation by my NIE supervisor this morning. Quite glad that the class was rather cooperative and didn't "sabo" me. Ha. It went quite ok I guess, except for the fact that I appeared rather flustered and was perspiring. I normally don't do so much with the students in an hour. The only thing that I'll have to really take note of would be to not clutter my lesson with lots of nitty-gritty, exam-oriented stuff, but rather the concepts that they should be learning.

I think I quite like the idea of having observations. I can improve on my lessons, given constructive feedback =]

Two more days before the week is through... My lessons for the week are almost done, since I do not have lessons on Thursdays. I can work on next week's lessons then... since my observations from the school side should be starting soon.

Shall go bathe, finish up with setting the test and go have an early rest. Pleasant week to all.
