Hmm, Wireless@SG is an iDA initiative for iN2015, so the free thing can't be fake.
Not too sure of the details now, but free wireless next year is a sure thing.

My idea of "free".
1. Does not discriminate users, thus do not need applications.
2. Does not track users by sign-in usernames. Should be "plug-n-play" compatible instead.

Hmmm,
Let's see what the other two companies come up with lo. Singtel gives 3 years free, the other two only gives 2 years, so it's whether you want the extra year of outdoor wireless free, in exchange for the application.
I've tried iCell's service in the national library... it's plug and play, with a generic sign in, but I keep getting disconnected despite having good signal.
